Appetence

Defined as intense desire, strong appetite, a craving or an inclination.

Appetence is the story of an awakening, a discovery, and a loss. One of its poems will be published in a literary journal in October. Currently revising the draft for submission.

This narrative came out quickly and tore things up along the way. It’s an ode to a place, to a phase, to moments that linger, to ghosts we meet in abandoned places, to the places we in turn haunt. It has a certain sound in my mind. A certain foggy, humid feel.

It’s an ode to the place capable of destroying me.

In the process of writing my own chapbook, I’ve read a lot of others, and I think I’m in love with it as an art form. It’s seductive, these little narratives, these little fever dreams.
