I will not be inconspicuous

I realize this is a privilege we don’t all have. But I do, so I will be obvious.

Fascism isn’t hiding. Hate is proudly announcing itself and painting itself as righteous. Hate is going to come for a lot of people, and too many people who don’t hate aren’t doing much, if anything, to stop it.

No, we can’t “just make sure there’s a blue wave at midterms.” Do you think a well-coordinated hate group isn’t prepared for that?

“Vote them out in 2028!” Too many people failed to keep them out in 2024, for many reasons. White women who carry water for the patriarchy. Misogyny among the very groups this regime is openly targeting. A lot of performative nonsense about both parties being the same and letting it all burn down, with no care shown for the vulnerable people who will suffer, and no plan other than “let it all be destroyed.” People who wanted to pretend they honestly thought the economy would improve.

Fascism can’t be voted out.

It can’t be tattooed out, either. But it does thrive on fear and invisibility.

I will not be invisible. I will not be quiet.
